We stayed at Maison Saint‑Blaise in May and absolutely loved our time there. The Dordogne is wonderful at that time of year, and the house made the experience even better. Everything is thoughtfully arranged and very well equipped, making it perfect for enjoying time with friends and family.

We especially appreciated the welcome package and all the recommendations – they helped us discover great places in the area. Even though it was early May and not very warm yet, we still managed to enjoy the pool.

As EV drivers, the charging station on site was a real bonus and made our stay completely hassle‑free.

A fantastic place that we would happily return to.

Fortified towns and orchards

We just spent a week with friends at Maison Sainte Blaise: an excellent and relaxing stay in a very pretty and spacious house in the middle of a wooded and flower-filled park.

Everything is well thought out and meticulously maintained, both inside and out, to make life as pleasant as possible. A few hikes allowed us to discover this beautiful region of the Dordogne, its fortified towns and orchards, and its generous cuisine.

Finally, let’s not forget the warm welcome, friendliness, and helpfulness of Sven, our host.

First floor has a separate access

Yes…another 5-star review! Maison Saint-Blaise is perfect for either a multi- generational family holiday or for going away with friends where you are looking for space, comfort and privacy afforded by its accommodation layout.

Essentially, you have 2 self-contained floors each with kitchen, living space, washing machine and dishwasher. The first floor has a separate access too, so whilst everyone can be together this can be achieved without feeling that you are on Big Brother.

We found ourselves instantly at home, principally because Maison Saint-Blaise is so well equipped and Sven and Sandra have thought about everything. They emailed us a very comprehensive Guest Guide in the days prior to arrival.

They are excellent hosts and very easy to deal with, so go on review their website, watch the Maison Saint-Blaise videos on YouTube and add this lovely Gite to your shortlist. Enjoy!

Very accessible base for sights and activities

We spent a wonderful week at Maison Saint-Blaise in a truly attractive part of France. It made for a very accessible base for the sights and activities on offer. Sven and Sandra are very generous hosts, ensuring the house is fully equipped and being contactable, should the need arise.

As a large party, we were able to make use of the entire house which allowed us to fully enjoy all the property offered – pool, games room, pétanque, zip wire, roaring fire (I could go on) – without ever feeling crowded for space.

A real gem and would thoroughly recommend a stay!

Peaceful estate

A beautiful, spacious house set on a lovely, green and peaceful estate. The swimming pool is large and very nice as well. The surrounding area is stunning, with wonderfully picturesque villages.

Excellent contact and communication with the owner. Our children and we had a wonderful time at Maison Saint-Blaise. Highly recommended.

Villages and markets easily accessible

We had a fantastic week with our family at Sven and Sandra’s spacious Perigord Villa.

The house, with its large kitchen, is fully equipped. Our 8 and 9-year-old boys had a great time in the heated swimming pool (29 degrees) and the play barn with darts and table tennis.

All the charming villages and markets are easily accessible from the house. We kayaked on the Dordogne, visited caves, and viewed castles. We are already feeling nostalgic, so who knows, maybe until next time soon.

A house to come back to again

Last May 2024 we spent a week at Maison Saint-Blaise. What a fantastic house! Truly a house to come back to again!

Everything (in and around the house) has been thought of, such as sunscreen, swimming pool tires, herbs, washing up liquid, garbage bags, fireplace wood. You name it.

The beds are wonderful! And the fact that you have 2 separate floors (living rooms), you also have a place to isolate yourself in the house. There are plenty of seating areas outside where you can sit in peace and quiet. The spacious sofa in the living room downstairs, the long dining room downstairs or the long garden set outside also ensure that you can sit down together.

We were 2 families, four adults and 5 children aged 9-17. There is something to do for all children! The swimming pool, the swing, the hammocks, the table tennis table, all great. The jeu de boules court is located in the shade, so you can relax there on a warm day.

The folder contains nice ideas for trips in the area.

Contact with the owners Sven & Sandra is great, they are very cooperative and you can tell that they have renovated and arranged this house with care & taste. Tips from them about, for example, having bread delivered from the bakery in the neighboring village (brilliantly delicious) or turning off all the lights outside in the evening and looking at the gigantic starry sky, you notice that they also like to be here and want to get the best out of it. an optimal holiday experience!

PERFECT FOR A MULTIGENERATIONAL FAMILY

Maison Saint-Blaise was idyllic, perfect for a multigenerational family. The house & amenities were incredible, with all our needs taken care of. The grounds are beautiful, with the most amazing pool & surrounding area, where we spent most of our time.

We were able to immerse ourselves in the luxury of Maison Saint-Blaise for 2 weeks in June, in one word fantastic!

When booking our holiday we immediately had good contact with the owners. Every now and then we received an update, which provided the necessary holiday anticipation. Especially when it turned out that a tree swing had been installed!

Upon arrival, the accommodation turned out to be exactly as shown in the photos. With the service of a shopping package, we were immediately provided with food and drinks on the first evening and morning, which was very nice.

It was also easy to contact the owner during our stay and help was provided where possible. For example, when our car turned out to have a flat tire, Sven helped us well, so that we could get back on the road in a short time. Very nice, because you do need a car in this area.

The house is spacious, all necessities are available (from kitchen utensils to swimming pools) and the biggest plus is the heated private swimming pool!

The area is also very beautiful, beautiful churches, outings for the family and nice villages.

All in all we had a wonderful holiday!

Well equipped and pleasant in winter

We had a superb stay with Sven and Sandra. The house is perfectly suited to family stays, it is very well equipped and pleasant in winter. Sven was a present and attentive host which allowed us to have a truly peaceful vacation.

The best surprise was surely the yoga mats, we were able to practice every morning which was a real joy! We dream of coming back in summer!

well equipped for large family

We rented Maison Saint-Blaise for 2 weeks during August 2023. We were with family, with people of all ages.
We have been vacationing in France for over 15 years, and this is the best follow-up we have from the owners.

We arrived and everything was done to make our vacation go well: magnificent house (as in the photos), very clean, very well equipped for a large family, both in terms of cuisine, quality of bedding, sanitary facilities and others, but also indoor and outdoor games, without forgetting the swimming pool, illuminated in the evening according to our wishes.

It can also be suitable for several families because it is organized in 2 levels, allowing everyone quieter moments, while having their comfort.

At the slightest question, the owners are very responsive and beyond the answer / solution, also make proposals for activities in the region.

The house has no direct neighbor, has a large expanse of forest, and within a radius of 30 minutes max by car, we were able to do a series of activities for all ages: walks, visits to castles and villages, paintball , gourmet markets, tree climbing, kayaking, ….. .

We really recommend this rental, very tasteful and warmly thank the owners, very concerned about our well-being and our satisfaction during our vacation.

NICE AND SECLUDED

We had a fantastic family holiday at Maison Saint-Blaise. The house was nice and secluded amongst the trees and the pool kept us entertained every day. We went to Beaumont for the night market on Monday evening and back again for the market on Wednesday. Montpazier was brilliant for a visit too and for dinner. The house has everything you could need and Sven and Sandra’s guide was so helpful to get us to find our bearings and plan things to do!

Comfort at christmas

It felt like coming home

In many ways this property can be summed up by telling the story of a day’s end. We had spent the day exploring a couple of Bastide towns and we ended the day at Bierre de la Bastide in Monpazier. Driving back we rounded the final bend and could see the house gently bathed in lights through the trees. It felt like coming home. Awesome property, great owners, and a wonderful experience 5/5

Alles aan dit huis klopt

Er is duidelijk veel liefde en aandacht besteed aan de renovatie van dit huis. Het resultaat is een fantastisch mooi huis, dat stijlvol is ingericht en voorzien is van alle denkbare voorzieningen. Werkelijk alles aan dit huis klopt. Door de rustige ligging en de grote tuin heb je echt het vakantie gevoel. Het verwarmde zwembad en vele terrassen maken dat af. 10/10

TOPHUIS

Wij (gezin van 10 personen) hebben een heerlijke vakantie gehad. Een schitterend huis waar je niets aan ontbreekt en wat keurig is onderhouden. Auto heb je wel nodig voor deze lokatie. Met de auto kun je wel veel leuke dingen bekijken en ondernemen.

De eigenaren zijn heel behulpzaam en communiceren snel bij vragen. Wat ons betreft een tophuis.

OMGEVING IS HEEL AANTREKKELIJK

Wij hebben een heerlijke week doorgebracht in Maison Saint Blaise! Sven en Sandra hebben dit authentieke huis met veel oog voor details en comfort verbouwd tot een waar paleisje en paradijsje!

Het huis is ruim,voorzien van alles, variërend van prima bedden en badkamers tot een luxe complete keuken.
De prachtige tuin met daarin meerdere terrassen en een groot heerlijk zwembad maken het verblijf hier tot een zeer ontspannen ervaring.

Voor de verdere details volstaat de beschrijving op de sites!
Ook de omgeving is heel aantrekkelijk. De bastide dorpjes met hun gezellige pleinen,markten kastelen en restaurants nodigen je uit om toch af en toe dit héérlijke huis te verlaten .
Wij boekten last minute en werden super goed en snel door Sven en Sandra geholpen om ons verblijf tot deze top ervaring te laten komen.

Merci de nous, avoir si bien reçu le jour de notre arrivée pour séjourner dans la Maison Saint-Blaise où nous avons passé un moment des plus agréables ensemble en famille et amis.

La maison était très confortable (…) bien équipée, très bien située en Périgord Pourpre, et comprenant de nombreuses activités, jolis villages alentours et bons restaurants, sans oublier la piscine vraiment très chouette.
